This is how you should take care of your lawn on Sunday
By: Linda Phillips
You should definitely take some time on Sunday to give your lawn some much-needed TLC. ย ย
Mow the grass first, but be careful not to cut it too short. Leaving it a little longer will help keep the soil cool and stop weeds from taking over. ย
After you mow the lawn, look it over carefully to find any trouble spots, like bare spots or signs of disease or pests. ย
Next, it's time to feed the plants. To keep from over-fertilizing your lawn, use a slow-release fertilizer made just for that purpose and carefully follow the directions. ย
This will keep your grass lush and green by giving it the nutrients it needs. ย
You can spot-treat weeds with a herbicide, but be careful not to spray any plants you want to keep. ย
You can also pull the weeds out by hand, but make sure to get rid of all of their roots so they don't grow back. ย
Finally, give your lawn a deep watering so that the water goes down several inches into the soil. ย
This will help your lawn grow deep roots, which will make it better able to handle times of drought or heat stress. ย
